Say it ain’t so!

…but it just might be.

Good read from alternet.org: “Why Danes are So Much Happier than Americans”.

This article provides some good insight into the differences in our culture and ethics.  Would we live happier lives if we adopted some of these ideas?  Read on:

Danish happiness has been attributed to their legendary income equality — but there’s more to it than that.
October 9, 2011  | Americans may be deeply divided about what ails our country, but there’s no denying we’re a nation of unhappy campers.

Danes, on the other hand, consistently rank as some of the happiest people in the world, a fact attributed at least in part to Denmark’s legendary income equality and strong social safety net.

Forbes recently cited another possible factor; the Danes’ “high levels of trust.” They trust each other, they trust ‘outsiders,’ they even trust their government. 90% of Danes vote.   Read more…

You can determine how confident people are by listening to what they don’t say about themselves.

Move forward, and the path will reveal itself..

An amazingly inspirational video from Mr. Never Give Up.  Watch it and be inspired.

Thanks to mrnevergiveup.com for the great video!

Here are a few quick and easy tips to help you inspire your world.

Browse through personal photographs. Often inspiration comes from an event that is important to you in a positive or negative way, and if it was important, you probably took some photos.  Looking through your photographs will remind you of a time when you felt a certain way.

Compare yourself with yourself. Not with others. Comparing what you have and your results to what other people have and have accomplished can really kill your motivation. There are always people ahead of you. Most likely quite a bit of people. And a few of them are miles ahead. So focus on you. On your results. And how you can and have improved them.

Fake it til you make it. If you don’t feel motivated or enthusiastic then act like it. The strange thing is that within a few minutes you actually start to feel motivated or enthusiastic for real.

Try Free-Writing.  Grab a notebook and just start letting you ideas flow out on paper.  It doesn’t have to make sense or even go together.  After 10-15 minutes of writing go back and read it.  See if there’s anything in there that inspires you.

Draw from inspirational words of wisdom. Quotes are your friend.  Whenever you need to summon your inner-strength, it helps if you have little one-liner reminders that keep you going.  Here is a great list of some of my favorites: Inspirational Quotes.

Just a quick reminder of what you can do on those days when you need a pick me up.

What are some things you do to inspire yourself?

Smile.  Even when you don’t feel like it.

Laugh.  Even when you’re down and out.

Breathe.  Even when it feels like you can’t.

Rejoice.  In the fact that you’re alive.

Be.  Just be.

AND

Inspire yourself today.

We’ve all had life beat us down from time to time.  Sometimes it feels like a never ending wave of ridiculous-ness that just won’t end.  As hard as it is to believe or even possibly accept there is one simple truth: We are bringing it on ourselves.

There is a constant truth in the universe “Like attracts like”.

So I challenge you today to get inspired.  Get motivated.  Just get up and be.  Because you rock.  You are awesome and that’s the main principle you need to accept to get rolling.

Do things that make you happy.  Whatever they may be.  The sooner you find and accept who you are, the sooner you will be on the road to your full potential.  Everyone has it in them to be great.  Only some dare to be.

Let yourself be open and life will be easier. A spoon of salt in a glass of water makes the water undrinkable. A spoon of salt in a lake is almost unnoticed.

Where you end up is not the most important thing. It’s the road you take to get there. The road is what you’ll look back on and call your life.
